Here's a photo of my tebuchet, showing rather beautifully how it releases a latex-balloon water-bomb. The range with a fully loaded counterweight is about 60 metres. It can be operated safely by teams of children as young as seven and has proved itself able to keep them happily engaged for at least a week on a family campsite.
